Gallatin High School Welcomes Matt Overton as New Outside Receivers Coach

Gallatin, TN — The Gallatin Green Wave Football program is proud to announce the addition of Coach Matt Overton to its varsity staff as the new Outside Receivers Coach.

Coach Overton joins the Green Wave from Shafer Middle School, where he served as the head football coach and built a reputation for developing tough, disciplined athletes and fostering a culture of accountability and growth. Under his leadership, the program at Shafer saw consistent improvement and a strong pipeline of talent prepared for the next level.

"Coach Overton is a proven leader who brings both energy and experience to our staff," said Gallatin Head Coach Michael Stroup. "He understands what it takes to develop young men on and off the field, and his familiarity with our feeder program is a huge asset."

A longtime supporter of Green Wave athletics, Coach Overton brings continuity and passion to a position group that will play a critical role in the upcoming season. His experience at the middle school level also ensures a strong connection between the future and present of Gallatin football.
