Gallatin High School Welcomes Veteran Coach Joel Goff to Football Staff

GALLATIN, Tenn. — Gallatin High School is proud to announce the addition of veteran coach and athletic administrator Joel Goff to its football coaching staff. Goff brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Green Wave program, having served in various coaching and administrative roles across Tennessee for over two decades.

Goff joins Gallatin after serving as an assistant football and head baseball coach at White House Heritage High School, where he was also promoted to Athletic Director in 2019. Known for his dedication to student-athletes and programs alike, Goff is highly respected for his ability to mentor young athletes and support coaches both on and off the field.

“We’re excited to welcome Coach Goff to the Green Wave family,” said Gallatin Head Football Coach Michael Stroup. “His experience as a head coach and athletic director will be a huge asset to our program. He’s a proven leader and teacher who cares deeply about developing players the right way.”

Before his time at Heritage, Goff served six years as a football assistant at Goodpasture Christian School and spent 10 years as head football coach and athletic director at Decatur County Riverside High School in West Tennessee. His early coaching career began at Jackson Christian School, and he later served as head baseball coach at Freed-Hardeman University, where he earned his master’s degree in 1991.

Known for his calm presence and team-first mentality, Goff is excited for the opportunity to contribute to the storied Gallatin program.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the Gallatin staff,” Goff said. “This is a program with a proud tradition, and I’m looking forward to working with Coach Stroup and the rest of the staff to help these players grow on and off the field.”

Gallatin High School continues to build momentum toward the upcoming season, and the addition of Goff further strengthens a coaching staff focused on culture, consistency, and championship-level preparation. Goff will also serve as a freshman World History as well.
